Benefits of Driving Ford EVs
Ford EVs come with many benefits. Not only are you driving a top-of-the-line vehicle with impressive features and performance, but EVs offer many cost savings and environmental benefits:
- Zero Fuel Costs - Say goodbye to the gas pump when you drive a pure electric Ford EV
- Zero Harmful Emissions - Safely warm your car in the garage or idle in enclosed areas and reduce your carbon footprint
- Lower Maintenance Costs - Fewer maintenance requirements (no oil changes, transmission services, and more!) means more money in your pocket
- Energy Efficient - EVs are much better at using the energy produced than gas vehicles, which waste around 70 percent of the energy produced as heat or other emissions
- Advanced Technology - Ford EVs are state of the art, featuring the latest performance, safety, and connected technology available
- Incentives and Tax Benefits - New Ford EVs can qualify for federal or New Jersey tax incentives, reducing the cost to own
New Jersey EV Incentives
Charge Up New Jersey is the state program for new EV owners to get rebates, incentives, and other benefits to help transition to cleaner personal transportation. The program is first-come-first-serve and offers up to $4,000 for qualifying pure electric - or battery electric vehicles (BEVs) - and up to $250 towards installing a Level II home charging station.
Ford EV Charging Basics
Charging an EV is as easy as charging any other device, like your smartphone. Every Ford EV comes with a portable charging cable, which allows the vehicle to recharge by plugging into a typical wall outlet (120-volt) in your home or near where you park your vehicle. New Ford EVs like the Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning have fast-charging capabilities, so you can use a Level II or DC Fast Charging public station. We also recommend that EV owners have a Level II charging station professionally installed where they park their vehicles to enjoy the convenience of faster charging speeds.
- Level I (120 volt) - At home or wherever you can find an outlet, Level I offers standard charging speeds with no additional equipment required. Level I may be the slowest charging level, but it helps protect battery longevity.
- Level II (240 volt) - At home with a professional installation or at a public charging station, Level II can regain about 27 miles per hour of charge.
- DC Fast Charging - Only available at some public charging stations, the fastest recharging speeds available allow Ford EVs to recharge from 10 to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes.
Ford-Certified Electric Vehicle Services
EVs don't need oil changes, transmission services, or many of the services that gas-burning vehicles frequently require. You can expect routine recommended maintenance for EVs to occur every 10,000 miles or about once a year. Services are minimal and only require replacements for worn parts like brake pads, fluids, and tires when necessary.
